Cookie Policy

Last updated: June 29, 2026

HelmIQ uses a small number of cookies, and only the ones the product genuinely needs to work. We do not run advertising cookies, and we do not embed third-party tracking or analytics cookies on the authenticated app.

1. What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file your browser stores when you visit a site. It lets the site recognize your browser on the next request, for example to keep you signed in. Some of what we describe below is set as a cookie, and some is stored in your browser's local storage (a related mechanism). We treat both the same way in this policy.

2. The cookies we set

NamePurposeCategoryRetention
crm_sessionKeeps you signed in after authentication.Strictly necessarySession / signed token, cleared on sign-out
__Host-crm_2fa_trustRemembers a device you marked as trusted so two-factor is not re-prompted every visit.Strictly necessary (security)Up to 7 days, configurable by your firm
crm_user_tzStores your timezone so meeting times and reminders render correctly.FunctionalPersistent until cleared
crm_buyer_sessionAuthenticates buyer-side visitors inside a deal data room (only set if you are invited to one).Strictly necessarySession, expires on sign-out or timeout
crm_buyer_otp_pendingTracks an in-progress one-time-passcode check during data-room sign-in.Strictly necessaryShort-lived, cleared once verification completes

3. What we do not set

Because every cookie we set is strictly necessary or functional, there is no advertising or tracking category to opt out of. This is why you see a short notice rather than a multi-toggle consent banner.

4. Managing cookies

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking the strictly-necessary cookies above will sign you out and prevent the app from working, since they are what authenticate your session. Functional cookies (like your timezone) can be cleared without breaking access; the related setting simply reverts to its default.

5. Changes and contact

If we ever introduce a new category of cookie (for example, product analytics), we will update this page and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first. Questions: jack@helmiq.net.
